Here are the much asked for performance numbers for Cleanex N183SX. I've posted some initial numbers before, but now, with over 60 hours on the Cleanex, I feel these are the most accurate. I'm not a test pilot (although that's what I would REALLY like to do) but I did try to perform accurate testing that could be duplicated.
Weight and Balance- The Cleanex empty weight is 695 lbs in its present form: tail tips, wheel pants, no paint, and 6.5 quarts of oil. With full fuel and no baggage there is a 175 lbs minimum pilot weight. This allows me to delete fuel and carry heavier passengers or baggage, while remaining with within gross weight and CG limits. The battery is in the baggage area (allowed per plans) and could be moved further aft for lighter pilots.
Flight Tests- The flight tests were all started with full fuel and a total weight of about 1020 lbs. The test were flown from a field at 80 ft MSL, and ground temperatures were 70-80° F. Take off from pavement was measured at 350-400 ft, with one notch (10°) of flaps.
Measurements were made with a Garmin 90 GPS and the data were not corrected for temperature or density altitude. For each test I flew at least two directions, and each test was flown at least twice. The performace figures are the average of the tests.
